Olivia Baker is the newly named Residential Living Director at Heritage Pointe of Warren senior living community in Warren.

She explored different career paths, including occupational therapy and pre-med at Huntington University, ultimately wanting a role that focused on providing care, and working with older adults.

“I wanted a career where I can be compassionate and show love in all the ways that seniors deserve,” she says. “At Heritage Pointe of Warren, I get to give people joy and compassion every day.”

Heritage Pointe of Warren senior living community, provides independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.  As the Residential Living Director, the most important part of Baker’s role is pursuing the community’s dedication to providing a holistic approach to enhancing all dimensions of wellness, including intellectual, physical, social, spiritual, and health services.

Additionally, she is an essential point of contact when new residents move into the community, helping to ensure they feel at home and welcomed. She collaborates closely with residents and their families to identify and fulfill each resident’s unique interests, abilities, and needs.

She also acts as a liaison between residents and other departments including activities, admissions, dining, and housekeeping, to help residents settle in to their new home  and have their questions answered.

“If I don’t know an answer to a question, I will get the answer,” Baker says.

“It is all about providing quality of life, which Heritage Pointe is dedicated to doing,” she says.

Getting to know residents is one of the joys of her job, according to Baker, who says, “They have rich life histories. It’s amazing to see what kind of people they are and the experiences they’ve had.”
