He’s worked both behind the scenes and on center stage with an elf of some notoriety.
Historic Main Street has launched its Elf Warren search as a way to promote area business while adding a bit of holiday fun. The ceramic elf travels throughout the downtown area. When shoppers spy him, they’re encouraged to take a selfie and submit the photo to be entered into a drawing to win a prize from the host business.
Elf Warren had been ‘residing’ on the shelf at Heritage Pointe of Warren for two years. When Kelly Jones, activity supervisor heard about the planned Main Street promotion, she knew that he’d be the perfect mascot. Kelly enlisted the artistic assistance of Heritage Pointe of Warren resident Mike Ternet, who loves any excuse to wield a paintbrush. Mike decorated Elf Warren with perfect holiday flair, and Historic Main Street coordinators launched the hunt. Ironically, Mike found Elf Warren at its first location at Bippus State Bank, and then went on to win the drawing prize which included an ice cream gift card and Christmas goodies.
“This is a fun way to promote area businesses, including Heritage Pointe of Warren’s own gift shop,” said Kelly. “And we’re glad that Mike has ensured that Elf Warren is ‘dressed’ for success.”
