Heritage Pointe of Warren Celebrates Dolly Parton Day with Fun, Food and a Love of Reading
October 20, 2026
WARREN, In. September 25 was more than just another date on the calendar at Heritage Pointe of Warren. For residents and staff, 9/25 meant 9 to 5, which could only mean one thing: It was Dolly Parton Day.
The senior living community in Warren, Indiana, celebrated all things Dolly throughout the day with blonde wigs, Dolly T shirts, butterflies, rhinestones and plenty of Dolly’s favorite color, yellow.
Residents put their Dolly knowledge to the test with Dolly Trivia, played Guess the Office Equipment inspired by the movie 9 to 5 and challenged one another to Finish Dolly’s Lyric. Funnel cake fries provided a sweet treat to keep the festivities going. Residents also enjoyed two of Dolly’s favorite ice cream flavors, strawberry pretzel and banana pudding.
Staff joined in the fun with baked potato fries, a nod to one of Dolly’s favorite foods.
But the sweetest tribute was inspired by something Dolly has encouraged for decades: reading.
In Dolly’s honor, Heritage Pointe residents collected children’s books to donate to local schools, turning a day of music, movies and fun into an opportunity to share the joy of reading with children in the Warren community.
It was a fitting way to celebrate Dolly Parton, whose influence extends far beyond the stage and into communities through her longtime commitment to literacy and helping children discover the joy of books.
