WARREN, INHeritage Pointe Communities is proud to announce the purchase of The Exchange Building in downtown Warren. The historic structure, built in 1887 at the corner of Wayne and 2nd Street, will soon become the organization’s new corporate headquarters. Heritage Pointe Communities is owned by non-profit United Methodist Memorial Home (UMMH), an Indiana not-for-profit which operates Heritage Pointe of Warren, Heritage Pointe of Ft. Wayne, Heritage Pointe of Huntington and Elizabeth Scott senior living communities.

The move marks a meaningful shift for Heritage Pointe Communities, which has maintained its central office on the flagship campus of Heritage Pointe of Warren since its founding in 1907. As the organization has grown to include four senior living communities across Indiana and Ohio, the decision to relocate reflects a commitment to both honoring its roots and preparation for its future growth.

“We’re deeply proud of where we started,” said Chod Boxell, CEO of Heritage Pointe Communities. “Staying in Warren was never a question. This move to the historic downtown location allows us to continue investing in the community that has always supported us, while giving our growing leadership team space to thrive.”

The downtown building had stood vacant for six years, but thanks to the efforts of Historic Warren Main Street, it was preserved and positioned for revitalization. The organization spent two and a half years securing ownership and creating a vision for its future use. With the support of Heritage Pointe Communities, that vision is now being realized.

“We’re all working to make Warren the best it can be,” said Becky Souder, secretary of the board of directors of Historic Warren Main Street. “Our mission has always been to bring revitalization to the historic district, and this collaboration is a big step toward that.”

In addition to providing office space for the Heritage Pointe team members, the renovated building and grounds will include areas for engagement and connection for community organizations and groups.  .

Renovations will begin in the coming months, with the relocation expected to take place within 12 to 18 months.

“We’re excited to take this next step forward with our organization, while revitalizing the downtown area of the city we’ve always called home,” said Boxell.
