It was open season at Heritage Pointe of Ft. Wayne senior living community last week.

The senior living community held its first indoor snowball fight and staff deer hunt, and it was so popular it’s destined to become an annual event.

Staff members, who were the ‘deer,’ donned antlers, ears and red noses and pranced around the room as residents took ‘shots’ at them with Nerf guns.

There was also a ‘snowball fight’ using soft, cloth ‘snowballs.’

The party ended with hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookies.

Christina Murphy, Activity Director, said that approximately 35 people participated. Some residents and staff members were drawn to the event by the laughter coming down the hall from the participants. “We’re always finding new and different activities for our residents,” said Christina. “This was so much fun; the residents did a lot of laughing. And some of them were pretty good shots.”
